Living our Mission
The MERCI Mission Center in Goldsboro, NC is an outreach program of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church (NCC).
Following the devastation of Hurricane Floyd in 1999, NCC made a commitment to help people in need living in Eastern North Carolina.
MERCI serves the people of Eastern North Carolina and the world through three focus areas: Disaster Ministries, Mission Support, and Rural Affordable Housing.
Disaster Ministries
Through our disaster ministries, we offer training/preparedness workshops, early response coordination, and long-term recovery coordination.
We work closely with the NC Conference Disaster Response Committee to coordinate efforts.
Local churches are encouraged to develop a disaster response plan.
Mission Support
At our warehouses in Goldsboro, we receive, sort, and distribute supplies for local, national, and international mission projects.
Review listings of disaster ministries kit contents and our troop morale kits.
Rural Affordable Housing
MERCI provides new home construction for qualifying low-income families in eastern North Carolina.

Donate Online Now
MERCI is solely supported by donations and grants. We are not a part of the NC Conference’s apportioned budget and never have been.
MERCI needs your help to continue supporting those who are affected by disasters, poverty, and adversity.
Please consider a donation or a pledge. (Conference Advance Special #S00136). Every dollar you give goes to making a difference in North Carolina and throughout the world.
